First Semester Begins

5 disciples were formally accepted by Dr. Yang in a ceremony at the Retreat Center Dr. Yang officially accepted 5 disciples on August 30, 2008: Jonathan Chang, Mike DiMeglio, Tom Dudkiewicz, Patrick Manriquez, and Ricardo Tonet. There was a formal ceremony with special guests, including Master Nick Gracenin, Master Pat Rice, and Master Jose Johnson.

The 5 disciples now begin their 10-year journey towards mastering the Chinese arts, together as brothers. Read more about the students of the Retreat Center on the Current Students page. We wish them the best of luck and hope for the continued success of the YMAA Retreat Center.

You can help support and donate to the cause on the Donations page.

Several of the disciples are writing blogs to document their experience in the 10-year training program, including photos, videos, and personal thoughts about the program. They are linked as follows:

Correction to Robyn S.'s comment below

Hi Robyn:

You are in fact, incorrect. There is no such thing as any sort of Non-Disclosure Agreement for any of the disciples here. Mike is free to tell of any of his personal opinions that he may wish to share.

All of the disciples keep blogs and can be contacted. You may ask any of them directly about their thoughts. You may also contact Mike and ask him directly about the Retreat Center.

Making unsupported statements about Dr. Yang, YMAA, and the Retreat Center is not only disrespectful, it is uneducated, unfounded, and slanderous. Please refrain from spreading rumors that aren't true.

The Retreat Center is a qualified nonprofit orgnanization. As such, any financial records you may be interested in to prove that this is not a Ponzi scheme can be readily provided, either through us or the appropriate government offices.

Regards,

The first of 5 bites the dust

Mike DiMeglio's called it quits in spring 2009 for reasons he has NOT made public because of signed agreements which did not permit him to tell the truth.
Of course he will probably be replaced by another unsuspecting and naive "disciple". But mark my words by the end of 2010 another disciple will leave and then another...
By 2014 all the "disciples" will have left the YANG Paradise.
Then Yang will have to pursue his retreat/retirement ponzi scheme outside the USA. Just watch and see.
