Dr. Yang Awarded "Martial Arts Publisher of the Year 2008"

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming was recently awarded "Martial Arts Publisher of the Year 2008" by the Eleventh World Congress on Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This annual conference hosted by Dr. Effie Chow and the American Qigong Association was held on Saturday, September 20th, 2008 in San Francisco, California, hosting approximately 300 attendees. This year's event raised funds to support the victims of the 2008 China earthquake.

Dr. Yang enjoyed the trip and conference very much. He was able to meet with many people who he had not seen for many years, including Gigi Oh from Kungfu Taiji magazine.

This year, October 1st 2008 marks the 24th anniversary for YMAA Publication Center and the 26th anniversary for the Yang's Martial Arts Association organization. Dr. Yang has contributed over a quarter century of his knowledge and research efforts in furthering our understanding and development of martial arts in modern day. Congratulations to Dr. Yang for this well-deserved and prestigious award.

Also be on the lookout for the YMAA 25th Anniversary DVD, available for pre-ordering now. The DVD will contain video footage from YMAA International from 1982 - 2007. A portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting the YMAA Retreat Center. The planned release date for this DVD is March 2009 (delayed for technical reasons).
