We Wish You Well, Tom
9 February 2010
Tom Dudkiewicz, after suffering from injuries inflicted from an unfortunate car accident last summer break, will be unable to return to the YMAA Retreat Center as a disciple in the 10-year training program.
It is an unfortunate and unexpected turn of events, and we are sorry that he will not continue the training with us. We hope that Tom's experience at the Retreat Center has helped him advance to a better position, understanding, and awareness of his martial arts training, and his life.
Destiny and Fate can be seemingly unfair at times, but we are taught in our training and in our lives to embrace the hands that we are dealt with confidence. Although we do not have full control over ourselves and our lives, we have the potential and ability to make the best of what we are given. Achieving this ability and power over our lives is the ultimate gift. We hope that Tom will be able to make a full recovery and continue his training, using what he has learned and accomplished at the Retreat Center, to further his skills, tap into his unfound potential, and maximize his capabilities. Thanks for being a part of our first year, Tom. We wish you the very best.

It's a big disappointment for
It's a big disappointment for the Retreat Center. I had the chance to meet Tom at last year's summer seminars and he struck me as an outstanding and dedicated martial arts student, as well as an all-round great guy. I wish Tom the best and hope that he can continue his studies along whatever new paths are available to him.
