Visiting

Everyone is welcome to train at the YMAA Retreat Center with Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming and the disciples. You may train by attending seminars during the Seminar Season, or you may submit a request to train for a specified period of time during a different time of the year. For those traveling by plane, the closest airport is Arcata/Eureka (ACV), which is about 90 minutes from the center. Transportation can be provided to and from the Retreat Center for a fee. About the Training

The isolation of the Retreat Center combined with the dedicated training facilities and rigorous training program allow practitioners to achieve deeper levels of skill and understanding in a much shorter time, when compared to training in urban societies. The training program emulates many of the stricter and harsher training conditions of ancient times, including intense physical conditioning, daily meditation, and a very disciplined schedule.

Visitors will be able to pace themselves accordingly, based on their training background, to the different drills and exercises that are trained. Of course, we do not expect all visitors to be able to keep up with everything that the disciples train, so you will be allowed to form your own training schedule, as long as it does not interfere with the daily activities and operations of the Retreat Center. All of the disciples adhere to a strict set of rules and an intense practice schedule to maintain and strengthen their code of discipline, sense of responsibility, and overall independence, which are all integral aspects of the training at the Retreat Center.

U.S. Visitors

If you are a U.S. resident, please note the following:

• You must pre-pay a deposit before we accept you as a visitor. Do not purchase any tickets (i.e. plane, train, bus) for travel until you have received an explicit confirmation of your planned visit from us.
• If you need to cancel, you must cancel 1 month in advance or your deposit will be forfeited.
• We are not responsible for any fees incurred from any changes or cancellations of travel plans. Please do not pay the deposit or purchase any tickets for travel unless you are absolutely sure that you will be coming to train with us.

International Visitors

If you are a foreigner, please note the following:

• You must pre-pay a non-refundable deposit before we accept you as a visitor. Do not purchase any tickets (i.e. plane, train, bus) for travel until you have received an explicit confirmation of your planned visit from us.
• You are responsible for obtaining your own visa. We do not write letters of invitation or letters of recommendation if we do not have any prior association with you. The most we can do is provide a confirmation of your registration and information about the center.
• We are not responsible for any fees incurred from any changes or cancellations of travel plans. Please do not pay the deposit or purchase any tickets for travel unless you are absolutely sure that you will be coming to train with us.
